Savasana (or the ‘Corpse Pose’) is an important component of yoga practice. Savasana is not sleeping, even though that sometimes happens. Instead, Savasana is considered to be an active relaxation and a deep mental and physical relaxation. During Savasana, the arms and legs are gently separated, the eyes are closed, and breathing is deep with an awareness of the chest expanding and contracting and all muscular tension being released. The body and the breath soften while the mind remains still and clear, with a thread the connect us to the physical. Now float away, feel your practice and the mind, body and breath connection!
